Our Time In Mauritius
Mauritius
Mauritius was truly a place to sit back, relax and get booed up. We’re not the snorkeling type but we love getting in and playing in the water. While there, we stayed at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa.
We took in many of the water activities around the property, while also venturing out to explore a few more. I’d definitely suggest going to see the waterfalls, taking a cruise of some sort, and walking under water is a must!! Like I said previously, we’re NOT the snorkeling type but seeing and feeding the fish underwater was totally amazing and experiencing it together as a couple was doubly amazing and one for the books!
The property had some great restaurants with pretty good options, and we entertained nightly by live music from different artists that were brought onto the property. It was a beautiful and romantic way to wind down each evening to some of the most beautiful sunsets ever or set the mood for a romantic night to come.
Mauritius is certainly a place for couples to get in a little R&R, lots of couple time, while also including a little adrenaline, if that’s your thing too. It’s a beautiful place to visit and checks all the boxes as far as tropical destinations go.
Our Time In Fiji
Fij’s Cloud 9
When you think of Fiji, you can’t help but think of picturesque beauty. It’s exactly that! Fiji is a collection of islands and if something you want to do is outside of of the small area you’re located on, everything else is just a boat ride away. We stayed at the beautiful Hilton Fiji Resort and Spa. Because we were very close to the marina, we were able to easily access a boat or ship to explore other islands and adventures.
We visited Tiviua Island for a beach day. Even though we went with a group, we enjoyed the time alone in a little hut for the day. Lunch was provided for us so we brought our own music for ambience.
Floating on Cloud 9 was one of my favorite things. We’ve all heard the expression “I’m on cloud nine” or “I’m floating on cloud nine” before. This boat had several “beds” for couples on the upper and lower deck, in which to lay and soak up the sun, cuddle, etc, while it sailed the pristine blue waters. I’d never seen water so blue in my entire life and it was a site to see! As the boat sailed the bar was open and we had an amazing time. We chatted with many other couples who were also there celebrating special occasions, such as birthdays and honeymoons, like I was.
Because we were so close to the marina, we chose to visit here several times, especially for dinner. They had plenty of great restaurants and lots of varieties, from seafood to Italian to Mexican and simply baked goods. One of my favorite treats is gelato and there were two shops. I was in gelato heaven!
You can’t be around this much water and not go on a dinner cruise. I happen to think they’re such a romantic way to have dinner and this one did not disappoint. We started out with cocktails on deck as the sun was setting before heading down to dinner. Dinner was a full lobster with various sides as well as a chicken entrée. After dinner, the crew performed a traditional Fijian song. It was a beautifully romantic evening and a perfect way to culminate a birthday.
I’d highly recommend Fiji to any couple looking for a romantic getaway.
Our Time In Dubai
Dubai waterfront
What first comes to mind when you think about going to Dubai? I can honestly say I was a little swayed by what I had seen on TV and our previous trip to Egypt. However, it wasn’t until I had begun to plan our trip that I realized all that Dubai had to offer and I was even more in awe upon our arrival. I’m a girlie girl through and through and love pretty things and lots of city lights. Nighttime Dubai was Vegas on steroids and beautiful!
We stayed at the Conrad Dubai with a room overlooking the beach. The hotel is located very close to the famed Dubai Mall, which is where you’re able to shop or purchase tickets for major attractions such as dinner on top on the Burj Khalifa or visit the largest aquarium. As a couple, many dinners can be romantic but having a delicious dinner atop the tallest building in the world with an amazing view of the skyline, along with a water show set to music. It’s a win win and definitely something you should add to your list of things to do if you’re planning on visiting.
We never shy away from a cruise. Right outside the mall area, along with a few other couples, we were able to cruise around the area in a small boat. We were able to see a little more of the area lit up at night and it was quite romantic.
As much as I love the water, I also love a little altitude. So, we took a helicopter ride over the city to take in the views. OMG! Beautiful doesn’t do it justice.
If you want to have a little fun and let off some steam, (yeah, I like a little adrenaline too), you can also rent 4x4s, ride camels, and attend a fire show. We like to compete with each other so naturally the race was on with the 4x4s. There’s also plenty of beaches and water in Dubai as well, if you just want to sit and chill.
We’re planning another trip back and plan to explore more of the beaches on the next visit. I’d highly recommend Dubai to any couple looking for a variety of things to do.our story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
This section is for couples; for lovers, honeymooners, bae-cationers, and the like who love traveling and are looking for inspiration and information on honeymoons or romantic getaways. Prior to us knowing one another, we did our own traveling. Once we hit the skies together, we truly enjoyed exploring the world and discovering new adventures together.
Many of our friends often ask us for information on where to travel and what to do for special occasions. I’m a planner by nature so a lot of thought and planning have gone into our vacation itineraries. We’ve had some amazing times on our journeys and I’m happy to share some of our itineraries with you so that you can get the most out of your vacation as well. I’ll include places to dine, fun and exciting things to do, entertainment, and some romantic things that lovers do.
Lastly, as I document our travels, you’ll notice we like to keep it sexy with a little swag! From the beach to the boardwalk to romantic dinners, we’re stepping out in style. We love fashion and are often dressed to complement one another because, as he puts it, he’s always my biggest accessory. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
We’re off to our next adventure! Where to?
